Classic example of someone not building their forms with all potential subscribers (particularly their biggest fans!) in mind.

It's not 100% necessary to use another list for this sort of thing - it seems in this case the marketer could have specified an "Already Subscribed" page in his/her form and put the appropriate content on it - but either way you definitely have to consider all angles when designing a new campaign.

Methinks a little more testing before releasing that landing page would have likely caught the problem before it occurred, too. Your post is an example of why marketers should always be subscribed to their own lists.

Still too many marketers IMHO regard email marketing and especially the excellent vehicle AWeber is as an after thought - being used to bulk emailing no doubt instead of opt-in permission marketing.

It'll change slowly for the better I hope
